About Cape Collars

Cape Collars "wearable art" neck warmer scarflettes are the absolutely gorgeous, one of a kind, made in the USA, handcrafted creations by Linda Jones of Yarn Over.

As Linda says, "if you don't make a mistake, you don't make anything!"  The handcrafted Cape Collars came to fruition in 2009 when her sister was crocheting a long scarf that was finished too short.  Bound and determined not to take it apart, she decided to create something new and different.  She and Linda got together with their ideas and the one of a kind asymmetrical styles with beautiful fringes and tassels was created.  Over time Linda's creativity flowed with excitement and enthusiasm as she incorporated fabulous textured and blingy yarns from all over the world, along with beautiful embellishments she collects.

Not only are these one of a kind artisan designed Cape Collars exquisite and unique, but they are soft, light weight, and very comfortable to wear.  The scarflettes and cowl neck warmers easily slip over the head to accessorize any outfit, and are the epitome of versatile wearable art that puts the finishing touches on a jean outfit, as well as the little black dress!  They can truly be worn with any outfit, as well as being perfect for the ski slopes, and any other fall and winter cool weather outings along with your jacket or coat.  Many gals often wear a scarflette along with a coordinating cowl neck warmer for a fashionable and trendy layered look.  The scarflettes can be worn off the shoulder or straight down the front of your outfit, and the cowl neck warmers can be worn with the embellishment to the front or off to one side.

Linda creatively crochets each lovely Cape Collar "by ear" without using a pattern, with impeccable attention to detail, investing countless and priceless hours of her time, and considers each unique creation a true work of art.  Each one is designed with several different soft, textured yarns from around the world, that are itch-free and wool-free for the allergy sensitive gal.  Some of the countries the yarns are imported from are Italy, France, Turkey, and the United Kingdom (UK), and she only uses cotton, acrylic, polyester, nylon, and polyamide yarns.

Care and cleaning is very easy...  Simply hand wash in cold water and lay flat to dry.

She really has a unique talent and love for mixing different colors and textures together for the ultimate and gorgeous end result.  Her extensive yarn and embellishment collections cover walls in her home on Cape Cod.  Linda can sit for hours at a time looking at all of them, and see the colors come together right before her eyes for her next one of a kind handcrafted artisan creation.  She loves designing them and she hopes every gal who has one, loves it as much as she loved creating it!
